Just thinking of Configuring Trunks issue

Owh...we have installled Cisco Catalyst 2950 in our campus and i'm wondering about an issue that give me the inspiration to write this post.

The basic thing that we need to think when connecting the 2 same devices, is the protocol that they use to communicate each other, and how about when both of them are not the same brand/model switch?

By default DTP is enabled on switch ports, dynamic desirable means the protocol will actively send requests to form a trunk.Dynamic auto means it will not actively send requests but if a request is received it will respond and form a trunk. If two connected ports are configured as dynamic desirable they will both send requests and respond so a trunk will be formed. It's easy, huh?

So..next time I 'll show show you how to connect two difference brand switches.
